Eyelid surgery (technically called Blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat--usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or browlift. Eyelid surgery is especially popular because many people first show signs of aging or of being "tired looking" (even when they aren't) because of their appearance around the eyes. Eyes are the focal point of attention whenever people communicate face to face.

The surgery has a relatively rapid recovery time, and the improvements can be very dramatic. This is true especially in men and women who otherwise are young and in good health, and do not feel as old as they look, especially around the eyes. Some people have "heavy upper lids" or "bags under their eyes" even in their 20's and 30's.

Breast lift ("mastopexy") is a procedure that is done for breasts that sag excessively due to aging, weight loss, or after pregnancy. The more skin that needs to be removed, the more extensive the surgery is likely to be. Scars are unavoidable in this situation. It is difficult to anticipate in advance what kind of scars any individual will form (favorable or unfavorable), but some tendencies can be estimated based on age and skin type.
